Introducing Redivion Plus
Contains Iron (iii) Polymaltose Complex 100mg and Vitamin B12, 2mcg. This combination aims to:
- Prevent masked anaemia:
Iron deficiency causes microcytic anaemia, while pure vitamin B12 deficiency causes macrocytic anaemia. In patients where the two exist, the red blood cells may appear normal on a lab test potentially masking an underlying deficiency. Prescribing both iron and vit B 12 ensures neither deficiency is overlooked.
- Support synergistic erythropoiesis:
In order to produce healthy red blood cells, both iron and vitamin B 12 must be adequately present. Iron is a key component of haemoglobin necessary for oxygen transport while Vitamin B 12 is essential for DNA synthesis, maturation of red blood cells and nerve cell maintenance. Combining the two ensures the body has necessary materials for both iron and maturation of blood cells.
- Address co- existing deficiencies:
Rarely do nutritional deficiencies occur in isolation. There is a high likelihood of simultaneous shortage of both iron and vit B 12, e.g. in patients suffering from poor diet, malabsorption, or in increased physiological demands like in pregnancy. Combining iron and Vitamin B12 treats potential cause of anaemia at once.
- Optimize iron utilization in conditions like celiac and post- gastric surgery. Adequate Vitamin B12 levels improve the body’s ability to utilize iron effectively.
Why Choose Redivion Plus
- Iron iii- Hydroxide Polymaltose complex is an organic iron compound which offers better tolerability compared to traditional ferrous salts. IPC is a stable non-ionic complex and it releases iron (iii) ions in a controlled manner The iron remains in a stable, non- ionic complex until it interacts with specific iron – binding sites in the gut. This prevents the release of free iron ions in the stomach, reducing the risk of free radical damage. This significantly reduces gastro intestinal side effects e.g. constipation, nausea, vomiting and metallic taste.
- Unique absorption pathway: IPC is non-ionic complex that is absorbed via a mechanism similar to natural dietary iron—where iron is taken up by intestinal cells (enterocytes) and bound to transferrin in a controlled manner.
- Lower toxicity risk: Iron polymaltose complex has wider safety margins and lower risks of accidental overdose as compared to traditional ferrous salts.
- Minimal interaction with food: This means its bioavailability is not significantly affected by food and also allows for more flexible dosing.
- Preferred for individuals with sensitive digestive system due to its super tolerability
- Bioavailability: The liquid formulation is designed for high bioavailability, meaning it is absorbed more readily than capsules and tablets.
Indications Of Redivion Plus
- Treatment of established iron deficiency anaemia.
- Prevention of Iron deficiency in cases where iron deficiency is likely, e.g. pregnancy, lactation, malnutrition.
Target Populations
- Pregnancy and lactation: Enhances increased maternal blood volume and foetal development.
- General fatigue due to suboptimal nutritional levels, e.g. in vegetarians.
- Malabsorptive states, e.g. in post gastric surgery and celiac disease where nutrient uptake is impaired.
- Children with iron deficiency anaemia or growth retardation.
Important Considerations
- Although Redivion Plus is generally safe with food, always follow specific instructions provided by your doctor or the product leaflet. Generally, avoid taking Redivion Plus simultaneously with high-calcium foods or beverages like dairy as they can sometimes interfere with iron absorption.
- Redivion Plus is flavoured to increase high gastro- intestinal tolerance.
DOSAGE
Once daily dosing, with or without food or as advised by your doctor.
Twist and break the cap on the ampoule and consume directly.
